Ok, It's been so long since I've posted anything on here. I've edited my website, I've started at a brand new company, I started to wear black denim jackets occasionally. I know.. a lot has changed I feel like. But I would love to bring y'all up to date on what has been going on. I want to share a little bit with y'all on what's new and the new things I've been learning. But most importantly I want to share a little bit about this quote that has been really getting me to focus on what's important.
So I'll go over some of these things quickly...
I've started a new position at Tom James Co. as a custom clothier. I now work for the largest custom clothier in the world, selling some of the best suits in the world. But the most interesting and my favorite part of my job is how I now take care of my clients. I go to their office's and or homes to do a fitting, show them the fabrics, get the garment created at one of the ten tailoring shops we own, and then deliver the garment in person to do a second fitting and then to finally deliver it, again in person, to my client. I love it. Convenience is king for most people. I'm also very good and making my clients look their absolute best so I believe I give the absolute best service. I've been super focused on my career for the past couple months. So I apologize that it led to my absence from posting for a while.
Now to the interesting part. The black denim jacket. I know what you're thinking. What the hell is this guy doing? All he wears is suits and sportcoats! But wait, hear me out. I've realized that in Nashville, you need at least one denim jacket right? And if it's going to be one, it should probably be black... In my opinion. But It's a stylish piece to have in your wardrobe and I've definitely become a fan of it.
Now to what's been really going on. The quote above. If you're not growing, you're dying. Meaning if you're not going up you're going down. If you're not one way you're the other. You get it right?
I've been told this a lot, I've heard it around a lot. But all I ever did was hear and say "Yeah that sounds right" and move on with my day. But this past season of my life I've been really diving into that. Ladies and Gents, why would we keep something in our lives if it's just bringing us down?
It's a hard process to part from the things that we've had in our lives for so long that has crippled us. This can mean letting go of habits, items, friends, even family. Taking a look at who you are and who you want to be is so important. But what's even more important is looking at the things around you and saying "Do these things match with who I am and want to be?" a very important question. I truly believe you start to become what you affiliate yourself with.
The quote couldn't be truer. If you own a business, you're never just flat. You're either making progress going up or down. Making money, or making less money then you did, or none at all, or you could just be losing it. All of these things lie in between growing or dying.
In your relationships, you are either moving up or down. You're never just in a phase of being in the middle. Y'all are growing together or growing apart.
So taking time to think and reflect on this, I've subtracted things out of my life that simply won't help me grow. Because why would you keep it if it didn't? That to me would be considered unhealthy. Y'all deserve better than that to do that to yourselves. I believe we all serve a purpose, and if we are constantly allowing things to stop us from growing, then how can become who we really are meant to be? How will we do what we need to do successfully? How will you be able to sit there and say you're doing your best when you allow things to stop you from doing that? You truly owe yourself more than that. And this is something I've really dove into and believe, I will not just hear it and agree, but I will believe and feel the truth of it. I will take action. Because I only want to grow to become who I'm meant to be and to do my best in all things I'm meant to do.
